Chinmayanand sexual harassment case: Law student brought to SC for meeting, orders to be passed toda

The Supreme Court has asked the Uttar Pradesh government to produce the Shahjahanpur law student before it after the police said the girl had been found in Rajasthan. The Supreme Court had asked the Uttar Pradesh government to present the Shahjahanpur law student before it after the police claimed that the girl had been found in Rajasthan with her friend. The girl has been brought to the Supreme Court and is currently meeting the judges. After the meeting, the judges will come to the courtroom and pass the orders. The father of the Shahjahanpur girl, who was missing since August 24, following had alleged that his daughter was sexually harassed by BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand. After the Uttar Pradesh government told the Supreme Court that the girl was safe and with a police team, the SC ordered the girl to be brought to the court where she will meet the judges behind closed doors. Sources in the police told India Today that the girl was en route to Delhi and had already reached Fatehpur Sikri. The girl, who had been missing since August 24, is fine and is being brought to Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh Police chief OP Singh told reporters. We constituted a number of teams and they were working in Rajasthan, Haryana, UP and Delhi. Her movement was being tracked for the past four to five days. Her call details are being analysed, the director general of police said. As the Uttar Pradesh government said it would also produce the boy found with the girl before the court, the Supreme Court said it was not interested to meet him. Only concerned about what happened to the girl, the SC said. The Supreme Court made the observations as it heard a petition filed by SC lawyers after a law student from Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur went missing following which her father alleged she was sexually harassed by BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand. The student at a college run by Chinmayanand's trust went missing a day after she posted a video on social media alleging that a "senior leader of the sant community" was harassing and threatening to kill her. She did not name Chinmayanand in the video. The politician, who faced similar accusations in 2011 and was booked for raping a woman who stayed at his ashram, disputed the charge. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has told the Supreme Court that it will take at least two more hours to bring the girl to Delhi. The SC will now decide on whether the girl will be produced in court or at the judge's residence.
