Delhi High Court junks plea against CPM registration
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar said this also points towards the professional misconduct on the part of the lawyer.
THE DELHI High Court on Tuesday dismissed a plea demanding cancellation of the registration of the CPM as a political party, observing that the petitioner suppressed his political affiliation with the BJP.
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar said this also points towards the professional misconduct on the part of the lawyer.
“You (petitioner) are guilty of suppression of material facts. You failed to disclose your political affiliation with BJP. You should have disclosed it and said that despite your affiliation, you want to place the issue before the court. You should meet your case head-on,” the bench observed. The court, however, refrained from imposing cost on petitioner, Jojo Jose.
The order came after the CPM’s lawyer told the court that Jose was affiliated to the BJP.
