Delhi News Today Live Updates: Dismissing his bail plea on August 5, the HC had said that CBI’s arrest of Kerjiwal “cannot be said to be without justifiable reasons or as illegal”. Delhi News Live Updates: The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea on Wednesday for bail and challenging the Delhi High Court order upholding his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a corruption case stemming from an alleged excise policy scam. Dismissing his bail plea on August 5, the HC had said that CBI’s arrest of Kerjiwal “cannot be said to be without justifiable reasons or as illegal”. Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI on June 26, though the FIR had been registered in August 2022, but without naming him as an accused. Weather updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed Delhi under a yellow alert, forecasting light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms over the next three days. The capital is expected to witness a predominantly cloudy sky today, with temperatures anticipated to peak at 33 degrees Celsius and dip to a low of 26 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, resident doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Dr Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, and Safdarjung will continue to strike on Wednesday. The Delhi AIIMS’ Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) had on Monday gone on an indefinite strike, suspending all elective and non-essential services including OPDs and wards to protest the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor at a government hospital in Kolkata. However, AIIMS Delhi had warned its protesting resident doctors against holding any demonstration on or around the hospital campus stating it was in violation of High Court directions and amounts to contempt of court. The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), a professional association for resident doctors in India, has called off the strike. Their representatives also met Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Tuesday evening. The members of FORDA in various central government and Delhi government hospitals will resume work from Wednesday.
