P Chidambaram moves Delhi HC again for bail in INX?case
In his plea, Chidambaram contended that he has not received the copy of the enforcement case investigation report (ECIR) registered by the ED.
Former finance minister P Chidambaram moved the Delhi High Court on Monday against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) seeking anticipatory bail in connection to his alleged role in the INX media case.
The plea was mentioned urgently before the acting chief justice Gita Mittal who allowed it to be listed. The matter could not be heard on Monday and would be now heard on Tuesday.
This is the second time Chidambaram has moved the Delhi high court seeking protection from arrest. In his plea, Chidambaram contended that he has not received the copy of the enforcement case investigation report (ECIR) registered by the ED.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court allowed Karti Chidambaram, son of P Chidambaram, to visit the United Kingdom, France and the United States of America from July 23 to 31. Karti also got relief from Madras high court that quashed a lookout circular (LOC) issued by the CBI, which is probing a money laundering case related to INX Media case. The court said that the impugned LOC will not impact the criminal proceedings initiated in the case.
