Justice Shah served as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court and a former Judge of Gujarat High Court in the past. Justice Shah, who was appointed Judge of the Supreme Court of India in November 2018, will retire on May 15, 2023. Taking to Twitter, BJP leader and Supreme Court advocate Gaurav Bhatia expressed concern over the health of Justice Shah and wished him a speedy recovery. "Hon'ble Justice MR Shah Judge Supreme Court of India has suffered a heart attack while he was in Himachal Pradesh. Arrangements are being made to rush him to Delhi. Praying to God for his speedy recovery," he said in a tweet.
